Government identification and verification selfies are collected for identity, age and safety purposes. They are not intended to be displayed to other members as part of your public Meet a Freak profile.

About This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Meet a Freak collects, uses, stores and handles information when you create an account, build a profile, complete verification, communicate with other members or otherwise use the platform.

By using Meet a Freak, you acknowledge that certain information you choose to provide may be personal or sensitive in nature.

We aim to collect only information reasonably required to operate, secure and improve the platform.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use Meet a Freak, we may collect information including:

  • Email address and account credentials.
  • Display name.
  • Date of birth and age-related information.
  • Gender.
  • Sexual orientation.
  • Relationship status.
  • Whether an account represents an individual or a couple.
  • Ethnicity, where voluntarily provided.
  • General location.
  • Profile biography and interests.
  • Public profile photographs.
  • Likes, passes, matches and other platform interactions.
  • Messages and reports submitted through the platform.
  • Verification information and related records.
  • Technical information necessary to operate and secure the service.

Identity Verification Information

Meet a Freak may require identity and age verification before an account is permitted to access certain areas of the platform.

Verification information may include a photograph of a valid government-issued identification document and a live verification selfie showing the member holding that same identification.

Where a profile represents a couple, both adults may be required to provide separate verification information.

Verification documents are not intended to appear on your public profile and are handled separately from ordinary profile content.

Why We Use Verification Information

Verification information may be used to:

  • Confirm that a member is an adult.
  • Reduce impersonation and fake profiles.
  • Assist in identifying suspected catfishing.
  • Investigate safety reports and suspicious activity.
  • Prevent banned or restricted users from improperly returning to the platform.
  • Protect the integrity and safety of the community.

We do not intend to use verification documents as public dating profile content.

Public Profile Information

Certain information is intended to be visible to other eligible members of Meet a Freak.

Depending on the platform design and your profile settings, this may include your display name, age, general location, profile type, gender, sexual orientation, relationship status, ethnicity, biography, interests and public profile photographs.

Your email address, government-issued identification and verification photographs are not intended to be displayed as public profile information.

Messages, Matches & Interactions

Meet a Freak may process information about your interactions with the platform, including likes, passes, matches, messages, blocks and reports.

This information is used to operate matching and communication features, enforce platform rules, investigate reports and improve member safety.

Members should remember that anything voluntarily shared with another member may potentially be copied, saved, screenshotted, recorded or redistributed by that person outside the platform.

How We Use Personal Information

We may use personal information for purposes including:

  • Creating and maintaining member accounts.
  • Providing profile, matching and messaging features.
  • Conducting identity and age verification.
  • Reviewing and responding to member reports.
  • Preventing fraud, abuse, catfishing and platform misuse.

  • Improving and developing Meet a Freak.
  • Complying with lawful requests or obligations where applicable.

Sensitive Information

Meet a Freak may process information that members reasonably consider particularly private or sensitive, including sexual orientation, relationship information, ethnicity, identification documents and verification photographs.

We intend to limit access to sensitive information to persons or systems that reasonably require access for legitimate operational, verification, safety, security or legal purposes.

Members should never publicly post identification documents, banking details, passwords or other highly sensitive personal information on their dating profile.

Storage & Security

Meet a Freak intends to use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.

Verification documents should be maintained separately from public profile content and stored using access controls intended to restrict unauthorized access.

No internet-connected system can guarantee absolute security. Members should use strong passwords, protect access to their devices and notify us if they believe their account has been compromised.

Service Providers

Meet a Freak may use third-party technology and service providers to operate parts of the platform, such as hosting, databases, authentication, storage, email delivery, analytics, security or other technical functions.

These providers may process information where reasonably necessary to provide services to Meet a Freak.

We aim to select providers appropriate for the type of information being processed and the services being provided.

Disclosure of Information

Meet a Freak does not intend to publicly disclose private verification documents.

Information may be disclosed where reasonably necessary:

  • To operate the platform through authorized service providers.
  • To investigate suspected fraud, abuse or safety threats.
  • To enforce our Terms & Conditions.
  • To protect members, Meet a Freak or other persons.
  • To comply with applicable law, court orders or lawful requests from competent authorities.

Where appropriate, Meet a Freak intends to cooperate with lawful investigations relating to activity on the platform.

Law Enforcement Requests

Meet a Freak may preserve or disclose information when required or permitted by applicable law, including in response to valid legal process or lawful requests from competent authorities.

We may also take reasonable steps to preserve relevant information when we become aware of serious allegations involving fraud, threats, exploitation, violence or other potentially unlawful conduct.

Meet a Freak does not guarantee that every complaint or report will result in disclosure of member information.

How Long We Keep Information

We intend to retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including platform operation, verification, safety, dispute resolution, fraud prevention and legal obligations.

Different categories of information may have different retention periods.

Verification records may need to be retained for a period after an account is closed where reasonably necessary to prevent fraud, enforce bans, investigate safety matters or comply with legal obligations.

Account Deletion

Members may request deletion or closure of their Meet a Freak account through the account controls made available by the platform or through the appropriate support channel.

Account deletion may remove or deactivate information from normal member-facing areas of the platform.

Some information may be retained where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution or enforcement of platform bans and restrictions.

Your Privacy Choices

Depending on the features available, members may be able to update certain profile information, remove public photographs, change account preferences or request account closure.

Members should contact Meet a Freak where they believe personal information associated with their account is inaccurate or where they have a legitimate privacy concern.

Children

Meet a Freak is not intended for anyone under 18 years old.

We do not knowingly permit minors to participate in the platform. Where we reasonably believe an account belongs to or involves a minor, access may be immediately suspended or terminated.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated as Meet a Freak develops, changes its technology, introduces new features or updates its legal, safety or operational practices.

Material updates may be communicated through the platform, by email or by requiring members to review updated privacy terms before continuing to use certain services.

Trinidad & Tobago

Meet a Freak is being developed for operation in Trinidad and Tobago and intends to handle personal information with regard to applicable Trinidad and Tobago privacy and data-protection requirements.

Trinidad and Tobago enacted the Data Protection Act, 2011. The final production version of this Privacy Policy and Meet a Freak's data-handling processes should be reviewed for compliance before commercial launch.

Privacy controls can reduce risk, but no platform can control what another person does with information or content after you voluntarily send it to them. Protect your identity and only share material you are comfortable choosing to share.
