Member Safety

Have fun. Stay smart.

Meet a Freak verifies members to reduce risk, but your safety still depends on the decisions you make before, during and after interacting with another person.

Verification is not a guarantee.

We take proactive steps against fake profiles, catfishing and suspicious activity, but no verification system can guarantee another person's intentions or future behaviour. Always do your own due diligence.

01

Protect Your Identity

You do not need to give another member your full legal name, workplace, home address or other information that could easily identify or locate you.

Consider using a separate phone number or communication account for people you meet through Meet a Freak.

Be cautious about sharing social-media accounts that contain your surname, family members, workplace, school or home location.

02

Call Before You Meet

Before meeting someone in person, have a few conversations first. Voice calls and video calls can help you determine whether the person matches the profile and information they have provided.

If someone repeatedly refuses reasonable calls or becomes aggressive when you ask basic questions, treat that as a warning sign.

03

Meet in Public First

Consider meeting in a public place before going somewhere private or becoming intimate.

Arrange your own transportation where possible and tell someone you trust where you are going.

Do not feel pressured to change locations or continue a meetup if anything feels uncomfortable.

04

Consent Every Time

A match is not consent. A message is not consent. A previous hookup is not consent.

Consent must be freely given and can be withdrawn at any time.

Respect boundaries immediately. If someone says no, stop. If someone asks you to leave, leave.

05

Practice Safer Sex

Members are strongly encouraged to use appropriate protection and make informed decisions about sexual health.

Have honest conversations about boundaries, protection and sexual health before becoming intimate.

06

Think Before Sharing Photos

Before sharing intimate photos or videos, assume there is always a possibility that the recipient could save, copy, screenshot or redistribute them.

Avoid showing identifying details such as home interiors, documents, vehicle registration numbers, work uniforms, distinctive tattoos or recognizable landmarks if you want to remain anonymous.

Only share content you are comfortable choosing to share.

07

Watch for Scams & Catfishing

Verification reduces risk, but no system is perfect. Some scammers, impersonators or dishonest users may still get through.

Be cautious if someone asks for money, banking details, gift cards, passwords, verification codes or financial assistance.

Be suspicious of major inconsistencies between someone's profile, photos, voice, video calls and what they tell you privately.

08

Never Send Money

Do not send money to someone simply because you met them through Meet a Freak.

Requests involving emergencies, transport money, investment opportunities, cryptocurrency, gift cards or urgent financial help should be treated cautiously.

09

Keep Sensitive Information Private

Never share passwords, banking credentials, PINs, one-time verification codes or security answers with another member.

Avoid sharing your exact work location or home address until you have made an informed decision that you trust the person.

10

Report Suspicious Behaviour

Report accounts that appear fake, threatening, fraudulent, coercive or otherwise suspicious.

Reports may lead to account review, further verification, suspension or removal.

Where you believe a crime has occurred or someone may be in immediate danger, contact the appropriate authorities.

11

Blocking & Unmatching

You may block or unmatch another member if you no longer wish to interact with them.

Do not attempt to contact someone through other channels after they have clearly asked you to stop.

12

Trust Your Instincts

If something feels wrong, you do not need to continue the conversation or meetup.

You never owe another member an explanation for protecting your safety.

Something feels off? Report it.

Suspicious behaviour, scams, threats, impersonation and harassment should be reported to Meet a Freak. Where appropriate, members should also contact the relevant authorities.
